2015 AMS Fall Central Section Meeting
Loyola University Chicago, Chicago, ILOctober 3-4, 2015 (Saturday - Sunday)
WHERE TO STAY:
The AMS has posted hotel information on the meeting site. Here are some hotels recommended by the university: hotel recommendations near Loyola. *Warning*: one of the hotels listed there is actually in Skokie; that's not very convenient ("limited public transportation" -um, yes). Also, keep in mind that the "Loyola Water Tower campus" is in the heart of Gold Coast - closer to downtown; it's a great neighborhood and you just need to take the red line train up to the main campus for the conference.
In addition, Loyola is on the CTA Red Line train(scroll down for area map) as well as the CTA Purple line train, so this means it is very easy to get to from the Loop / downtown area as well as Evanston.
You may find good hotel deals anywhere in the Loop, River North, Gold Coast, Lakeview, Uptown neightborhoods - just try to be not too far from the Red line train, and you should have no trouble getting to campus.
Saturday dinner
We plan to go to the Niu Japanese Fusion Lounge at 7:30 pm on Saturday October 3rd. The restaurant is located at 332 E Illinois St, Chicago IL 60611. This is a few blocks from a CTA Red Line stop, thus reachable by train from Loyola; also you may choose to take a CTA bus number 147 and get off at Michigan & Illinois; the restaurant is couple of blocks East of the bus stop (you will need to walk down the stairs from Michigan ave). We will be seated in smaller groups to allow for easy payment. There is no funding for this event. This is a joint social event with the Mathematics of Evolution Session.More information coming soon.
