This checklist will be used to grade your paper and will be returned to you with comments.

Requirements:
Papers that do not satisfy requirements will be returned for correction and re-submission.

  1. The paper is typed.   For example, use Maple, LaTeX, or Microsoft Word.
  2. The paper contains a list of references.
  3. The paper does not cite Wikipedia.

Does This Paper:

  1. Look neat?
  2. Use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation?
  3. Clearly state the goal of the paper in an opening paragraph?
  4. Provide a paragraph describing the overall structure of the paper?
  5. Provide biographical details?
  6. Have (a) concluding paragraph(s) clearly summarizing what was learned?
  7. Conclude with a list of reliable references?
  8. Cite all references used and give acknowledgement where it is due?
  9. Define all variables used?
  10. Clearly label diagrams, tables, graphs, or other visual representations of the math (if used)?
  11. Clearly state the assumptions which underlie the formulas and theorems?
  12. Explain how each formula or theorem is derived, or where it can be found?
