Hope you did well in your midterm. SIAM is holding a series talk in different research fields of the applied mathematics. We would like to introduce popular topics to you and give a big picture of what our faculties are working on. Our first speaker is Professor Sergey Nadtochiy. Here is the link for his background and research. Lunch will be offered.
Time: 12:45 – 1:45, Wednesday, Oct 24.
Location: RE 122
Speaker: Sergey Nadtochiy.
Title: Dynamics and Equilibrium of Stochastic Systems.
Abstract: I will start by describing, in general terms, such areas of Mathematics as: Stochastic Analysis, Stochastic Optimization, and Game Theory - and will, then, present some of the specific projects I worked on recently. In particular, I will discuss the applications of the aforementioned fields in High Frequency Trading, Optimal Contract Design, Stability of Networks, Moving Interface problem in Physics, and more.
