You may have heard of Budapest Semester in Mathematics, an amazing math
experience, which IIT students have done in the past (most recently, Dan
Kosmas '17). If that sounds interesting, google it and talk to me, too.

Below I copy an announcement about a similar program in Math Education, for
a semester or for the summer. Happy to discuss this with anyone, too.

Best wishes,

Dear Colleague,

Budapest Semesters in Mathematics Education (BSME) is a semester-long
study-abroad program (in Budapest, Hungary) in mathematics education. At
BSME, students explore the *Hungarian approach* to learning and teaching,
in which a strong and explicit emphasis is placed on problem solving,
mathematical creativity, and communication. BSME is in its third year, and
we hope to keep attracting talented and enthusiastic students from all over
the country.

BSME welcomes undergraduates and recent graduates who are (1) currently
pursuing secondary mathematics teaching license at their home institutions,
(2) planning to pursue other paths to mathematics licensure, or (3) simply
curious about learning and teaching of mathematics. And BSME courses are
designed so that credits will be transferable to American colleges and
universities, with transcripts issued by St. Olaf College.

Starting in 2018, we're also starting a new 6-week summer program called
Summer at BSME. Please see our website (bsmeducation.com) for more details.

Please share this opportunity with students who would benefit by
participating in BSME. We are currently accepting applications for Spring
2018, Fall 2018, and Spring 2019 semesters, as well as for summer session
2018. Admission is rolling, with the Spring 2018 applications due November
1. More information can be found at bsmeducation.com. Please feel free to
contact me with any questions.

Best wishes,

Ryota Matsuura
North American Director, BSME
