Here are some summer research for undergraduate (REU) opportunities still
accepting applications:

Two REU sites received funding notice just last week:

   1. Muhlenberg College REU
   <http://muhlenberg.edu/main/academics/mathcs/reu/> on integer sequences
   - rolling admission starting March 15th.
   2. Emerging Scholars REU <http://faculty.smcm.edu/sganzell/reu/> at St.
Mary's College of MD, targeting under-represented students early in their
math careers - after completing at least Calc II - but no upper-level math
courses, website under construction, application coming soon.

Other programs with deadlines upcoming:

   1. Undergraduate workshop on Super-Symmetry
   <http://people.uwec.edu/whitchua/supersymmetry/> (math & physics) - one
week program in August - deadline April 2nd.
   2. Purdue REU <https://www.math.purdue.edu/people/bio/egoins/PRiME.html>
   - deadline March 11th.
   3. U. Illinois, Chicago short (2 week) REU
   <http://kftucker.people.uic.edu/RTG2016REU/>, deadline March 15th.
   4. U. Washington REU <https://www.math.washington.edu/%7Ereu/>,
deadline April
   1.

Typically, an applicant should have 1-4 undergraduate semesters remaining
after the summer of the REU program, with 2 perhaps being ideal.
Recommendations should be sought from faculty members who know you and your
work well, and in whose classes you have done well.
