Dear all,
As some of you may know, the Applied Mathematics department has a
special celebration in honor of Karl Menger. This year, the invited speaker
is Professor Andrea Bertozzi from UCLA.
Among all the events, the IIT SIAM student chapter organized a
discussion with her on "How To Be a Successful Applied Mathematician",
E1-102 at 4:40-5:30pm.
This is a great opportunity for you since this is a student oriented
discussion. You will be able meet her and ask anything you want that could
be helpful for your future careers:
- For those willing to go to the west coast, how did she manage to end up
in UCLA?
- For the women in math, how difficult is it to become a woman
mathematician?
- For the people interested in modelling, Is the crime modeling really
effective?
- Etc.
We hope to see you all there!
Best regards,
Lluís Antoni Jiménez Rugama
