Dear Colleague,

Do you have students and alumni with a gift for explaining concepts and a passion for working with young people? They may be ideal candidates for the <http://wwteachingfellowship.us6.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=1e26171de8d23bac014e41235&id=0bc05759ff&e=14f2fffac9> W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Woodrow Wilson Michigan Teaching Fellowship.

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Woodrow Wilson Michigan Teaching Fellowships seek to attract talented, committed individuals with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) backgrounds into teaching in high-need schools. Offered through five Michigan campuses—Eastern Michigan University, Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and Western Michigan University—this pioneering program has been recognized by the White House and touted as a model by the U.S. Department of Education. (Meet Steven Feutz of Grand Rapids, a 2011 WKKF-WW Michigan Teaching Fellow, in <http://wwteachingfellowship.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1e26171de8d23bac014e41235&id=33cb771e99&e=14f2fffac9> this minute-long video clip.)

The Fellowship awards current seniors, recent graduates, and career changers in the STEM fields a $30,000 stipend to complete an intensive master's degree program, focusing on a year-long experience in a real-world classroom. In exchange, Fellows commit to teach for three years in urban or rural secondary schools, with mentoring and support from both their universities and their schools. Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowships are now offered not only in Michigan, but also in Indiana, Ohio, and New Jersey.

Since 1945, the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation has supported more than 21,000 scholars, teachers, and other intellectual leaders to help meet the nation’s critical challenges. Today, there is no more urgent national need in education than to bring exceptionally able math and science teachers into high-need schools. Your students and alumni can make a powerful difference in the lives of thousands of children, and in the nation’s future.

You can help your students and alumni make the most of this exciting opportunity. Please feel free to share this email with prospective Fellows, and/or to share and post the video clip above.
