> Hello Dr. Fred J. Hickernell,
> I hope this message finds you well. My name is Heather Carbary, Coordinator of University Relations at Great Minds in STEMTM. I am writing to you in hopes that you may be able to assist me in recruiting energetic and passionate university students for upcoming STEM awareness paid mentorship opportunities in the Chicago, IL area. On behalf of Great Minds in STEMTM, I would like to invite your students to participate as “College Captains” at the upcoming Viva TechnologyTM Student Day Programs in the Chicago Area.
> The paid mentorship opportunity is hosted by Great Minds in STEM’s Viva Technology™ Program. Viva TechnologyTM is Great Minds in STEM’s National K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM) education awareness program. With the help of college students, “College Captains” from surrounding universities, we are able to provide “near peer” role-models for the students who participate in the program. As a college captain, students will have the opportunity to give back to their community by guiding students through STEM related activities. We provide College Captains with a $100 stipend for each program, which can be distributed individually or pooled together for a fundraiser. These programs are proudly sponsored by the Motorola Foundation. This is an excellent opportunity for your students to network and work alongside many Motorola representatives.
> There are three opportunities to volunteer as a College Captain. The information can be found below. Have students come to one or come to all!
