Dear Applied Math majors and math club members,*

Undergraduate Research Day* has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 1st
from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on the MTCC Bridge. *Poster submissions* are welcome
to this event, and participation is in fact required for some who were
funded in Summer 2010 by the Office of Undergraduate Research.

Other good reasons to participate:

   - Show what you've done in your research
   - Practice for other competitions at conferences, Menger Day 2011, Joint
   Math Meetings 2012, etc.
   - Do well and get a recommendation for an REU, grad school, etc.

You can discuss the possibility of a poster further with your research
adviser; or look on http://ResearchWeb.iit.edu/ for open positions to start
research this semester and participate in a later event such as *Menger Day
2011*. The Applied Mathematics department might be willing to cover the
cost of printing your poster, especially if you agree to present it at
Menger Day 2011 in April.

There are some standard processes for posters:

   - How to Make a Research
Prof. Randy Katz
   - How to Create a Winning
Prof. Kim Keeton
   - IPRO Poster design tips: http://ipro.iit.edu/deliverables/poster
