Register now and save money!  The pre-registration deadline for the 2010
SIAM Conference on Financial Mathematics is Monday, October 25. The
meeting will take place November 19 – 20, 2010, in San Francisco, CA. For

Information on how to register for both can be found at:

CSE opportunity for undergraduate students

2011’s SIAM Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE11)
will feature three sessions devoted to undergraduate student research
projects in computational science and engineering, building on the success
of previous such sessions at SIAM Annual and CSE meetings. This will be
part of Student Days, which has been added to CSE11 in the absence of an
annual meeting next year. Submit your papers now for consideration. Slots
are limited! Decisions are expected to be made in November. For more
information, please go to the following link:

7th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics - ICIAM

Owing to a grant from the National Science Foundation, students and early
career applicants affiliated with U.S. institutions can apply for travel
support to ICIAM for amounts of up to $1500. Candidates presenting their
work at ICIAM will be preferred. Women and underrepresented minorities are
strongly urged to apply. You can submit an application through SIAM’s new
travel award site here: http://awards.siam.org/

Information about all ICIAM travel awards including subsidies for
delegates from developing nations can be found at the ICIAM 2011 travel
subsidies page. See under http://www.iciam2011.com/

Gene Golub Summer School on Waves and Imaging

Waves and summer do go together. Next year’s Gene Golub SIAM Summer School
with its topic area of Waves and Imaging will take place July 4 – 15, just
prior to the International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics
(ICIAM 2011), in Vancouver, Canada.  While the school targets mathematics
graduate students with interests in related fields, those from
wide-ranging areas such as engineering and geophysics with an affinity
toward mathematics are encouraged to apply. Open to graduate students
worldwide through an application and selection process, registration to
the school is free, and opportunities for funding board and travel are
available. Please find more information on the Students page here.
