Those of you with ongoing research projects, please consider presenting some
of your results at CAURS (see below).

Also, our own department poster competition is coming up 2 days later. The
perfect opportunity to participate in both!

Subject: 2009 CAURS event - help needed!!!

Dear Colleagues:

The 2009 Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium will take place on
April 18, 2009 at

Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center,
Northwestern University School of Medicine
675 N. St. Clair,
Chicago, IL 60611

Once again, it is time to make sure that IIT is well represented among the
student presenters and the faculty judges. at the current time, only 5
IIT students have submitted abstracts and only 2 faculty from IIT have
agreed to be judges.

I am appealing to you to have your undergraduate researchers submit
abstracts as soon as possible. The deadline has been extended until March
27, 2009. it is a great opportunity for them to get experience presenting
at a conference which is organized completely by undergraduates!

Abstract submission can be done at

The organizers also need Faculty judges from all IIT departments and I
urge you to volunteer and help support this outstanding event.

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to have a strong IIT
participation at this event. It certianly means a lot to our three IIT
student organizers, Xuan Kang, Manuel López and Omaditya Khanna, who have
put a lot of time into this.

Thanks in advance,
