*2007 Summer Programs*

Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS):
June 24 - August 24, 2007
Please refer exceptional undergraduate students of mathematics,
engineering, computer science, and physical and life science
disciplines to http://www.ipam.ucla.edu/programs/rips2007/ for
information on this unique summer program. Last year's project
sponsors included Arete, Symantec, Hewlett-Packard, Pixar, JPL,
Lawrence-Livermore and Los Alamos National Labs, NASA Goddard, and
TimeLogic. Students will be in-residence at UCLA for nine weeks.

**A RIPS program in Beijing, China, in collaboration with Microsoft
Research Asia, will run concurrently. U.S. citizens and permanent
residents may apply through IPAM (Chinese nationals may apply through
MSRA). Students indicate their interest in the Beijing program on
the RIPS application.**

Juniors and graduating seniors are especially encouraged to apply.
The selection process is highly competitive. An application is
available online. They are due February 15.
