Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the IIT Career Management Center (CMC), I ask you to please
extend the attached invitation to IIT's Spring 2007 Career Fair to all of
the students and faculty in your department.  This will be the biggest
career fair IIT has hosted in recent years, with a nearly 50% increase in
employer participation over last fall.  If you are able, please forward the
attached PowerPoint slide to your staff who may, in turn, wish to share the
information with their students during class during the day Wednesday or on
Thursday morning.  If you are unable to view the attachment, the
announcement is as follows:

SPRING 2007 CAREER FAIR

Hermann Union Building (HUB) Ballroom

Thursday, February 22, 2007

12:00 noon - 5:00 pm

All Illinois Institute of Technology students and alumni are encouraged to
attend!

Requirements for entry are as follows:

*       Bring your IIT Student ID to attend free of charge (cost for non-IIT
students is $10) 

*       Bring plenty of resumes (if possible, please have these checked by
CMC staff prior to the fair) 

*       Bring personal business cards (if you wish, you may create 250 for
free at www.vistaprint.com <http://www.vistaprint.com/> ) including your
name, 

                                                      future degree or job
title that you are pursuing, and 3 characteristics that you want the
employer

        to remember about you (examples: Self-motivated, Analytical Thinker,
etc.)

*       Dress in business attire (dark-colored suit & tie or dress slacks &
shirt, dress shoes and socks or stockings)

*       Neat and clean appearance (body, breath, hair & clothing) 

*       Avoid excessive jewelry, colognes, perfumes or potentially offensive
odors

You may also wish to attend the "Keys to Job Fair Success" workshop
facilitated by the 

CMC to help you to prepare for the career fair.  NO ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS
REQUIRED. 

KEYS TO JOB FAIR SUCCESS WORKSHOP

Wednesday, February 21, 2007 @ 3:30pm

Location: Galvin Library Group Study Room (next to CMC)

In addition to this announcement, students have already been notified of the
fair via IIT Today, the plasma screen in MTCC, flyers around campus and via
the CMC website.  Nevertheless, some students may forget about this
important event due to the rigors of their coursework.  Hence, we would
truly appreciate it if you would work with us in ensuring that all of our
students-graduate, undergraduate, domestic and international-are aware that
several opportunities may await them at the job fair on Thursday.  For
admittance, students and alumni should be sure to dress in formal business
attire and bring several copies of their resume to distribute.  Having
personal business cards and a practiced 30-to-60 second "elevator speech" is
also encouraged.  The fair may also prove to be a wonderful networking
opportunity for administrators, faculty and staff interested in working with
the CMC to promote the IIT brand to employers, and to encourage them to
participate in IPROs, EnPROs, and research opportunities at IIT and IITRI.

We hope to see you and your students at the fair on Thursday.
