Subject: U.S.-Hong Kong REU in Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing

 

The Mathematical and Computer Sciences Department at Colorado School of 

Mines invites applications for an international REU program to be held 

in Hong Kong,  May 28, 2007-July 20, 2007.  The program will be centered 

at Hong Kong Baptist University and administered by Colorado School of 

Mines.  It will focus on numerical analysis and scientific computing 

with applications in applied science and engineering. Ten undergraduates 

who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents will be selected to 

participate in the program.  They will spend eight weeks working on 

research projects under the direction of faculty members at Hong Kong 

Baptist University, City University of Hong Kong and the Chinese 

University of Hong Kong. Each participant will receive a stipend of 

$2500, plus travel and a subsistence allowance.  Accommodation will be 

provided at Hong Kong Baptist University. Applications should be 

submitted by February 19, 2007, for full consideration.  More details
