Dear students and colleagues,

We received a number copies of the IMS New Researchers' Survival
Guide, published by the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. This
is a helpful summary of what to think about as from choosing a
graduate school through the first few years of your first position.
Although it is written for statisticians, much of the material is
helpful for applied mathematicians as well. I will place these
materials in the Dept. Office. Please feel free to take a copy if it
is of interest.

Best regards,
