As a few people pointed out, I neglected to mention a crucial bit of
information:

Tomorrow's talk is at 4:30pm in E1 122.

You can see the title & abstract here

the audience is not expected to know the specific topic beforehand.  The
speaker should introduce the topic, assuming only general background
knowledge - in this case, some probability/statistics.
