Thanks, Qi, for this information. I believe it is the same as what the
university made available last week (and which I pointed to in my email).
If anyone has concerns about the road closures or increased security
measures and prefers to not come to campus on Monday, then that is
absolutely OK. However, in that case it might be good for you to notify us
if you believe we are expecting to see you on Monday.
I hope the traffic situation will be manageable. Fred and I both have to
fight some of it, so hopefully we'll be able to make our 9am meeting on
time.
See you Monday,
Greg Fasshauer

Dear All,
I find that some roads will be still closed on next Monday. The traffic
information is posed at

Sincerely,

Dear All,
As mentioned earlier by Prof. Hickernell, we plan to kick
off our summer research activities with a meeting this coming Monday:

While not all of you have made a commitment to working with us, we felt that
we should at least inform you of this opportunity for an overview.
This weekend, including Monday, the city of Chicago is hosting political
leaders from around the world for the 25th NATO Summit.
IIT has summarized some information for us:
http://www.iit.edu/news/iittoday/?p=4496. In particular, there are road
closings near McCormick Place (which is not too far from campus), and
increased security measures are expected to be in place also on campus.
Make sure you have IDs on you. If you run into any difficulties with
security people on campus, please feel free to contact either Prof.
Hickernell (630-696-8124 <tel:%28630-696-8124> ) or me (312-343-8580
<tel:%28312-343-8580> ) so that we can try to help you.
Unrelated to the potential inconvenience associated with the NATO Summit it
might be a good idea to send Prof. Hickernell and/or me your cell phone
numbers in case we need to get in touch with you over the course of the
summer.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday!
Greg Fasshauer
