[grads] FW: CPS Science Fair

Dear All,

 

            Chris Dignam (with whom we're running the first MATH IPRO this
semester) is looking for judges during the Chicago Public Schools Science
Fair that will be held at IIT on Wednesday, Jan.24 in the morning (see
additional info below and in the attached letter). 

 

Chris estimates about a 15-30 minute time commitment per person, but seems
to be really in need of help. He's looking for 40-50 (!) judges from IIT.
This includes students (undergrad or grad) as well as faculty. If you can
spare a little time it would be great if you could help out. 

 

If you're available, please contact ME, so I can collect all the info and
forward it to Chris.

Good morning Greg,

I realize your classes just resumed and I didn't want to throw this at you
on Monday. 

*I have attached a copy of the invitation to judge at the science fair at
IIT on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. I really
need 45 judges from IIT to ensure the CPS-IIT partnership is successful. IIT
students would be wonderful to have judge the projects and would be great to
have them interact with the CPS students. It might be easier to just create
a list and forward it me me if you, your colleagues, science/math dept.
members, and students would be willing to participate. Lunch will be served
for judges at 12:00 p.m.

   

I am really hopeful that we can recruit enough judges. I have had little
success and only have about 6 committed judges (including the students you
asked to E-mail me). I would REALLY appreciate any help you can provide. I
really pushed to try and get 70 - 80 CPS students to attend the IPRO day in
December and I really need some help. 

 

Please let me know if you would like me to come up to IIT anytime before the
science fair on Wednesday, January 24, 2007.
