minutes beforehand.

AM Seminar: Friday, Oct 20 3:45pm, E1 106

Speaker: Sergei Orlov (Solid State and Photonics Laboratory, Stanford
University)
Title: Holographic Data Storage Technology

Abstract: The talk will describe many aspects of holographic data storage
technology, including physical mechanisms, optics, digital signal
processing and information coding. Detailed description of one of the
state-of-the-art holographic data storage systems will be presented. The
technology is currently used for ultra-high density volumetric data
storage, e.g. large capacity digital archives.
